The Hype Train is Going Strong (E3 Day 2 Recap)

Dawn of the Second Day

Time has marched on, leaving the exciting news of yesterday behind so that we may usher in the hype of today. Here to bring us that hype was Ubisoft and Square Enix. They each announced a plethora of things but only some truly excited me. Let's start with the former

Ubisoft E3 Conference

Ubisoft started off strong by showcasing the next Watch Dogs game, subtitled Legion

The biggest selling point for this game is the ability to recruit and play as any NPC. We're placed into an Orwell esque future where tech is every and everyone is being monitored. Taking place in England, this game gives me some heavy V for Vendetta vibes. The gameplay looked well enough, couldn't really spot new changes. This one I'll keep my eye on, if for nothing more than the ability to be a super spy as an old woman.

The next exciting news was a new IP called Gods and Monsters. I got huge Breath of the Wild vibes from it and that's a very good thing. I'm reading that it'll mostly feature Greek mythology in an open world adventure. Very cool. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

And that's pretty much all that excited me from the Ubisoft Conference. We got some updates to their games, like Assassin's Creed and For Honor, as well as a new Ghost Recon game but none of these stood out to me. Cool franchises and I'm sure some people will be excited by the news but I can't really get invested.

So let's move on to Square Enix.

Square Enix's Conference

Lots of Final Fantasy in the best possible way. Let's start with the big one: Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
So I never played the original Final Fantasy 7. It was gifted to me by my friend, Justin, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. That being said, I'm excited for the Remake. Not only does it look beautiful, but the updated combat system looks great. I played, never finished, Final Fantasy 15 and the combat was one of my favorite things about it. So to see a similar style in what people consider the best game of all time - yeah, my hype is pretty high up there. I believe it's still going to be episodic, which is a huge bummer. But I'm still looking forward to giving it a shot.

Square went on a roll with remastering their classic Final Fantasy games. We also saw my personal favorite, Crystal Chronicles.

Yes, this is my favorite Final Fantasy game. And I can't wait to play it. The best thing about is that the co-op is being moved over to Online play. I'm hoping they add couch Co-Op, but considering that Nintendo will probably force my hand to get a second Switch, this probably isn't an issue. I'm excited. I'm happy. Let's move on.

Like I said, Square is going all in with these remakes/remasters. Final Fantasy 8 is also getting the remaster treatment. Again, never played this one when it was first released, so I'd be more than willing to give it a shot. I'm sure it'll be great and I'll have a blast with it.

The last big thing announced was Crystal Dynamics releasing a Marvel's Avengers game. And if I'm honest? The character models have me a little... concerned. Their faces look off, somehow. I'm not sure what it is - maybe just identifying the actors with the characters too much. From the sounds of it, it's also going to have a heavy focus in co-op and online play. All DLC for the game was been announced as free downloads, so that's a big place. The main cast in the game also has some of the best voice actors in the business - Including Laura Bailey and Nolan North. I'm skeptically hyped about this game. I want to be good but there is a fear in me.

Final Thoughts

And that's more or less it. They announced some new stuff and a few more remasters but none of it caught my attention. All in all, though? I think Square had the best conference. We'll see what Nintendo can bring yo the table in just under 3 hours from now. So far it's been a pretty good E3. Again, nothing has blown my mind yet, unfortunately. But I'm still hopeful.

Thanks for reading. Did you enjoy the Day 2 conferences? What did you like the most? Let me know in the comments section. Wanna get email updates for every post? Feel free to subscribe! Thanks again and as always, Good Night and Joy be with you all.

The Best Girl | HuniePop Girls ...For All The Marbles

Foreword A quick disclaimer, ranking people based on attractiveness is gross and I'll punch you if you do this. That being said, the HuniePop girls are both fictional and exist solely for degenerates like me to enjoy , so we can make an exception, I'm sure.  For those of you who are somehow uncultured, HuniePop is a dating simulator game that utilizes a match 3 puzzle mechanic to develop your relationship with a cast of 12 ladies, eventually leading to sexy times. Each girl, for the most part, envelops a particular character type, such as Tiffany being the sweetheart or Nikki being the gamer girl, with some slightly deeper personalities.  AND AS SUCH, there can only be one best girl, which is what we'll determine here today. ... I never thought this would be my first countdown but it somehow feels fitting.  Number 12 - And Worst Girl.  Audrey I have many opinions about Audrey. (And certainly, didn't just do a short internet search to see if I'm missing something.) ...

My Experience At Awesome Games Done Quick 2026

I have been watching the speedrunning charity event, Awesome Games Done Quick, for about 10 years at this point. It is a gaming marathon where a list of gamers (called runners) play a video game on stage (and streamed online) to beat said game in the shortest amount of time possible, utilizing both advance skills and technical exploitation. Awesome Games Done Quick, abbreviated as AGDQ, has benefitted the Prevent Cancer Foundation and to date has raised just under 30 million dollars. For the last three years, AGDQ has been held in my backyard of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and this year I had the good fortune of being able to afford two badges (one for myself and one for my lady friend) as well as an overnight stay in the hotel the event was being ran at. Since I've been wanting to ramp up my creative works, I figured I would take some time to write about my first time experience and what this event has done to me.  The Pre-Pre-Show As stated above, I believe it was 2016 when I first ...

Sex Is Awesome (HuniePop Review)

Foreword Sex is awesome. Perhaps a cursed way to start a blog post but how does one start a review of Huniepop? As I daydream while working my 9 to 5, I thought about starting a discussion about adult entertainment and its place in gaming and society as a whole. But the fact that I'm writing a review for said adult video game, have done Let's Plays for both the original and its sequel, and I run a show where we shamelessly talk about adult games every Valentine's Day; should be evidence enough that I feel adult entertainment is pretty great.  There are caveats, of course. Is it for everyone? Of course not. There are those who think sex in the media is taboo and immoral and, while I don't think it should ever be outright banned, I can understand the argument for certain games. I don't think something like The Elder Scrolls games need blatant sex scenes. There are also definitely cases where it would harm the game, an example being a Battlefield or Call of Duty where ...
