The Best Game I've Ever Played. No, I Will Not Explain (Outer Wilds Review)

Foreword What is the point? To be more accurate: why do we as people decide to do anything? The necessaties are easily explained by being required for us to survive. That's also not really what I am addressing. It's the finer things that I want to put into focus. Why am I writing this review? Why are you reading it? Why did either of us play Outer Wilds? When you strip away our need for food and shelter, what reason are we left with to do anything? Indeed, what is the point?  To experience life.  Truly, the reason why we exist is... simply that. We are here to exist and to bear witness to the world and universe and the indescribable mysticism that our existence contains. The main focus of Outer Wilds is not to answer the big question of why nor does it attempt to but by playing the masterpiece that is this game, that question ultimately gets answered. The point of Outer Wilds is to experience the game for what it is. To witness all that it has to offer. As such, it is ab...

Burn It Down (Five Nights at Freddy's: Pizzeria Simulator Review)

Foreword It has come to this. The penultimate battle of good vs evil – father vs son – a reviewer vs a really well put together horror game and franchise. Five Nights at Freddy's: Pizzeria Simulator (which I loving short to Pizza Sim cause it just sounds funny) is the sixth installment and the final (Haha – fat chance) game in the Afton story line. This game was released on December 4, 2017 for FREE and has received pretty much universal praise (9/10 via Steam, 7.1 via Metacritic). Perhaps the most lore intensive game, most of the burning questions that remain are answered while delivering both a familiar gameplay style with some exciting new mechanics. Let us descend into the madness for one final time. The Story The game opens, innocently enough, on an atari style mini game. You control Mr. Fazbear himself as he launches pizza pies of your own creation into the faces of hungry waiting children. As you rack up points, things turn south pretty quickly as a shadow Freddy appears to ...

Criminal Origins (Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location Review)

Foreword If you were to ask me what my absolutely favorite game in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise before I started making these reviews, I would've said without a doubt that Sister Location was it. One of the main contributing factors was the story and how direct it was with the narrative. While the fifth installment is still a really great game, do I still hold the belief that it's the best one? Before I dive in, it's time to go over that review rating scale: 10) Big Boi Lovings - A perfect score. Any negatives are insignificant. 9) Marvelous - A nearly flawless piece of media. A few gripes prevent it from being perfect. 8) Recommended - An excellent piece of media that should not be skipped, despite a few complaints. 7) P. Good  - Above average. Some of the problems are a touch painful. 6) Hard Enjoy  - Despite the issues that are present, I want to be a fan of the media - even though it hurts. 5) Aight .- Average. The experience is overall hit or...

A Frightful Third Installment (Five Nights at Freddy's 3 Review)

Foreword March 2nd, 2015 – the day that Five Nights at Freddy's proved to be much more than a few one off indie games. With the release of Five Nights at Freddy's 3, fans were treated to what could have been the end of a trilogy. We, with the gift of hindsight, know that the series was just getting started, but at the time the story reached a logical conclusion. But how does the third installment hold up? Is it the satisfying conclusion we all wanted or just another cog in the wheel? Before I begin the deep dive, let's go over the scoring system the BradicalRadical show uses: 10) Big Boi Lovings - A perfect score. Any negatives are insignificant. 9) P. Awesome - A nearly flawless piece of media. A few gripes prevent it from being perfect. 8) P. Great - An excellent piece of media that should not be skipped, despite a few complaints. 7) P. Good - Above average. Some of the problems are a touch painful. 6) Hard Enjoy - Despite the issues that are present, I want to be a ...

The Giant Stands Tall (Five Nights At Freddy's 2 Review)

Foreword Has a video game series ever had so many sequels released in such a short amount of time? I'm sure if you were to take a look at the industry, Five Nights at Freddy's would be near the top of the list - if not the number 1. Scott Cawthon released the sequel to his critically acclaimed horror game just four months after the first game. Even someone not familiar with the gaming industry can tell that is an incredibly short amount of time. The assumption that is easy to make is that the game must not be of high quality. Well, luckily for you, I'm obsessed with writing and would love to break this game down for you. Before I start, let me rehash my reviewing scale for those of you who may be new here: Each game is scored based on four core categories - the story, the gameplay, the visuals, and the audio. Each component is awarded a maximum of ten points, and then the game is scored based on the average of those four categories. To further the exp...
