Nintendo Wins E3 (Day 3 Recap)

Dusk of the Final Day

Yesterday I was discussing the past 2 days of E3 with my friends. I made a comment, being mostly disappointed in what was shown. I said "I miss the days of E3 when big bombs were dropped... Like Nintendo announcing a new Zelda."

Today. Nintendo dropped bombs. But let's unpack it slowly.

Nintendo's Conference

Before the show began there was talks about who the new character in Smash woul be. A lot of speculation but none of it towards the Dragon Quest characters we received. The show opened with the reveal of some characters I didn't know the name of. I just couldn't help but think about everyone who would undoubtedly be disappointed.

We went into the direct with talking and a cute skit concerning Bowser and the new Nintendo of America CEO, Doug Bowser. Gotta say, love ya Doug. You're a great replacement for Reggie.

Then Nintendo showcased Luigi's Mansion 3.

The premise seems to be that Luigi and gang are staying in a haunted hotel. They added some new ways to tackle the ghosts and some fun looking bosses. Definitely plan on picking this one up.

Nintendo showed off more of Link's Awakening. The game seems to be mostly the same, save for a new dungeon creator mode. Very cool. Can't wait to play Zelda Maker, haha.

We saw a bunch of third part stuff as well. Witcher 3, a lot of Resident Evil and some more. Nothing too Earth shattering.

Our next bomb involved the Secret of Mana. Specifically, the never US released Trials of Mana.

This, along with a Mana series collection, Collection of Mana. A big win for JRPG fans.

The next big announcement was No More Heroes 3.
I never got into the series but always wanted. I'm happy to see they're giving this wacky game a good run.

We got see a little bit more of Pokemon Sword and Shield, including my new waifu, Nessa.

She just looks so dang pretty. We also learned the Poke Ball Plus will be compatible.

Let's move onto one of three big bob-ombs Nintendo dropped.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

A beautiful and breathtaking game. Players travel to a deserted island and basically build the town from scratch. It looks amazing and seems like there will be a heavy multiplayer focus. I can't wait.

The last two bombs rival each other in comparison. Let's do them order, shall we.

*Deep inhale*

BANJO AND KAZOOIE ARE CONFIRMED FOR SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE.

This is a real image. The Mad Lads actually did it. So many people's dreams have finally come true, including my own. What speaks even more volumes is that this could open the door for Banjo Threeie, the sequel we always wanted. If they managed to do this, then they can do that. I'm so unimaginably happy because of this. I had a huge grin on my face the entire time.

And for the final bomb.

BREATH OF THE WILD 2 IS IN DEVELOPMENT.

This is the content I always wanted from Breath of the Wild. Post game content where you explore with Zelda. I'm in love with this so much. Even though we probably won't get it for quite awhile, I'm still estatic. The game looks like it'll be a darker story, with some zombie / redead monster playing a significant role. I can't wait. More Zelda is always a good thing.

Final Thoughts

Nintendo won E3. No doubt. They love their fans and gave us everything we asked for. I'm so happy and excited. That is how you do an E3 Conference.

How hyped are you? What are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments and consider subscribing for email updates. Thanks for reading and as always, Good Night and Joy be with you all.

Ragdoll Ramblings | April 2025

You know. I think there needs to be some form of acceptance in all of this.  Life is… difficult. Of course, I'm working towards making it a touch easier but there's always going to be some kind of strife happening, at the very least, in proximity to me. Whether it's the personal storm that swirls in my psyche or my country drop kicking its economy and morals into the nearest trash heap, I fear times are always going to be eventful.  While I'd love to be a machine that runs on spite, sometimes I succumb to the storm. And lately it has been raging but ā€œHeave ho, onwards we rowā€.  Soooooo to give the tl;dr on the content:  L oveSeat has a few unedited videos but the final few still need to be recorded. I know it's April. Be nice.   RPG Sunday is fully edited and scheduled, which has been great for progress. I'm at the point where I'm streaming and uploading a VOD almost the same day.  Monday Show has no progress Retro Tuesday VODs are unedited but w...

Alien: Romulus Reminds Me Horror is Good (Review)

Foreword I have a very particular taste in horror movies. When I was young and first discovered horror, I became obsessed with it. I may be able to trace that obsession back to video games with what little footage I saw of Resident Evil 4 and how desperately I wanted to play it, despite being far too young to purchase it myself. It could also be a product of the fascination with ghosts and spirits and demons I had. Regardless, I've consumed a fair bit of the horror genre as a whole. I've played numerous games, own several books, and have watched many movies, shows and videos. Perhaps this is why I have a love and hate relationship with horror movies.  I believe the problem, which is an issue for fictional media as a whole, is that horror relies heavily on the unexpected. If you've ever seen John Carpenter's Halloween, you've seen every slasher flick. If you've seen The Exorcist (I haven't. Be nice) you've seen every procession movie. If you have past ex...

Dusk of the First Day 8736 Hour Remain New year, new beginnings - so and so forth. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't also fall into the trap of trying to reinvent myself in some way each year only for it to crash and burn.  To increase my chances of success, really the only thing I'm working on is my discipline in relation my creative work. Surely, I can spare an hour a day writing. Easily I can spare an hour a day recording or editing videos. We'll see how it goes. I mean, I am kinda forcing myself to write even this even though I'm a sleepy baby.  For the tl;dr club that just wants to see what I'm trying to work on or where certain projects stand:  Writing Still working through Season 1 of Ed, Edd n Eddy reviews. All the notes that I need for it have been done for a hot minute. Episode 13 is currently in production. As with the change to the YouTube, I'll probably wait until the whole Season is finished before I start releasing them. If I'm able to...
