Declutter | The Carnival

Foreword Welllllllllll - lookie what we got here, it's another fantasy short story to add to the collection. For those unaware, Declutter is a collection of various short stories, all that have been uploaded to this blog, that I plan to release for free via Amazon Kindle. Main idea is to let myself become familiar with the self-publishing system before launching my full fledge novel. I'm also terrified to put that out in the world but that's a story for another day.  The story for today is The Carnival. This is something that I could easily continue and expand upon for future short stories. I'm unsure if this will exist in the From Dawn to Dusk canon or not. But enough of my ramblings - let's dive into this world together.  The Carnival Nathan McHale let out yet another yawn before rising from the red lazy boy chair that had nearly pulled him back into a deep slumber. Thankfully, the sound of the coffee maker beckoned to Nathan and, like any addict, he simply coul...

Quick Shot Ed (Ed, Edd N' Eddy Season 1, Episode 10 Review)

Foreword Ed, Edd N Eddy for the longest time has been my favorite cartoon. Recently, HBOMax has picked up several cartoons from the late 90s and early 2000s. Unsurprisingly, I went on an immediate nostalgia bender and watched the entire series with my lady love. And what better way to celebrate several of my favorite cartoons than by systematically reviewing each episode, starting with the dorks of Peach Creek. For all of my new readers – Hey, welcome to Patchwork! - Each episode will be reviewed on a 10 point rating scale. I'll be focusing on four aspects of the show and pulling the average to get a final tally. The four categories we'll be measuring are: The Story  - The Plot of the episode, as well as the characters themselves. The Visuals  - Whether they be character, backgrounds or accessories. The Comedy  - This is a “haha” funny show, so it needs decent comedy. The Scam  - The Ploy the Eds concoct to weasel the allowances of the other kids. With the formaliti...

Burn It Down (Five Nights at Freddy's: Pizzeria Simulator Review)

Foreword It has come to this. The penultimate battle of good vs evil – father vs son – a reviewer vs a really well put together horror game and franchise. Five Nights at Freddy's: Pizzeria Simulator (which I loving short to Pizza Sim cause it just sounds funny) is the sixth installment and the final (Haha – fat chance) game in the Afton story line. This game was released on December 4, 2017 for FREE and has received pretty much universal praise (9/10 via Steam, 7.1 via Metacritic). Perhaps the most lore intensive game, most of the burning questions that remain are answered while delivering both a familiar gameplay style with some exciting new mechanics. Let us descend into the madness for one final time. The Story The game opens, innocently enough, on an atari style mini game. You control Mr. Fazbear himself as he launches pizza pies of your own creation into the faces of hungry waiting children. As you rack up points, things turn south pretty quickly as a shadow Freddy appears to ...

Criminal Origins (Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location Review)

Foreword If you were to ask me what my absolutely favorite game in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise before I started making these reviews, I would've said without a doubt that Sister Location was it. One of the main contributing factors was the story and how direct it was with the narrative. While the fifth installment is still a really great game, do I still hold the belief that it's the best one? Before I dive in, it's time to go over that review rating scale: 10) Big Boi Lovings - A perfect score. Any negatives are insignificant. 9) Marvelous - A nearly flawless piece of media. A few gripes prevent it from being perfect. 8) Recommended - An excellent piece of media that should not be skipped, despite a few complaints. 7) P. Good  - Above average. Some of the problems are a touch painful. 6) Hard Enjoy  - Despite the issues that are present, I want to be a fan of the media - even though it hurts. 5) Aight .- Average. The experience is overall hit or...
